Small hokkaido pumpkin from slettå. (~800gr)

🎃 Hokkaido Pumpkin

A beautiful autumn favourite with deep orange skin, sweet flesh and a naturally rich, slightly nutty flavour. Hokkaido pumpkin is especially convenient because its thin skin becomes tender when cooked — no peeling needed.

Properties:

🎃 Sweet, slightly nutty flavour

🧡 Dense, creamy orange flesh

🌱 Edible skin when cooked

👀 Naturally rich in beta-carotene

🌿 Provides fibre, potassium and vitamin C

🍂 Excellent seasonal autumn vegetable

Uses:

Perfect for roasting, soups, curries, stews, risotto, pasta sauces and purées. It also works beautifully in baking or simply roasted in wedges with herbs.

Naturally Supports:

👀 Normal vision – beta-carotene can be converted by the body into vitamin A, which contributes to normal vision

🛡️ Immune function – vitamin A and vitamin C contribute to normal immune function

✨ Healthy skin – vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal skin

🌱 Healthy digestion – naturally provides dietary fibre

🧡 Antioxidant intake – its orange colour comes from naturally occurring carotenoids

👨‍🍳 Chef’s Tip:

Don’t peel it! Cut the pumpkin in half, scoop out the seeds, slice into wedges and roast with olive oil, sea salt and fresh herbs. The skin softens beautifully while the flesh becomes sweet and creamy.

📦 Storage:

Keep the whole pumpkin in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place. Once cut, refrigerate and use within a few days.

🌍 Why We Love It:

Hokkaido is everything we want from an autumn vegetable: colourful, comforting, versatile and wonderfully low-waste. The flesh is delicious, the skin is edible, and even the seeds can be cleaned and roasted. One pumpkin, very little waste. 🎃💚

Yes. Our range changes throughout the year depending on what our local farmers, producers, and foragers have available. Shopping seasonally means fresher food, better flavour, and a lower environmental impact.

Freshness is our priority. Many of our products are harvested, baked, produced, or foraged shortly before delivery, so they arrive at your door at their very best.

If you won’t be home when your order arrives, don’t worry. During checkout, you can let us know your preferred safe place where you’d like us to leave your delivery box, such as by your front door, on your porch, or in another secure location.

We’ll follow your delivery instructions whenever possible. To maintain the quality of your fresh products, we recommend choosing a shaded or sheltered spot and refrigerating any perishable items as soon as you return home.

To reduce waste and support a more sustainable way of shopping, we charge a small deposit for our reusable delivery boxes.

When you’ve unpacked your order, simply return the box during your next delivery. Once we receive it, you’ll receive a store coupon equal to the full value of your box deposit.

You can use this coupon on any future order whenever you choose. It’s our version of Norway’s successful bottle deposit (“pant”) system—helping us reuse packaging, reduce waste, and keep local food delivery as sustainable as possible.

Yes. When you create your account, you can let us know about any food allergies, intolerances, or dietary preferences, helping us provide products that better suit your needs.

However, we recommend reminding us of any allergies or special dietary requirements during checkout each time you place an order. This helps ensure we have your most up-to-date information when preparing your delivery.

Please note that while we do our best to accommodate dietary preferences and avoid allergens whenever possible, some products are prepared by independent local producers and may have been handled in facilities where allergens are present.

Your satisfaction is very important to us. If you receive a product that is damaged, missing, or doesn’t meet your expectations, please contact us as soon as possible.

We’ll review the issue and work with you to find the best solution. Depending on the situation, this may include a replacement product, a refund, store credit, or a discount on a future order.
